FAQs
How can I become a member of My Friendly Golf Club?
Membership registration for My Friendly Golf Club is quick & simple. Click Join MFGC at the top of this page, to share your email address. My Friendly Golf Club will then occasionally email you with opportunities to play the best courses across UK & Ireland.
We only welcome members who are kind, courteous & friendly.
Do I need to have a handicap?
Yes. Most of the Top 100 clubs have a recommended handicap limit to ensure everybody has a good time. In our view, this means all players respecting the turf & pace of play. If you’re having a tough time on a particular hole, please pick up your ball to ensure pace of play is respected.
Is this competitive?
No, it’s friendly by nature. However, some players will happily entertain a competition if you wish to compete when on the course.
How much does it cost to become a member?
It’s free to register to become a MFGC Member.
If I pay to play, who will I be playing with?
Most of our members come alone so with this in mind we endeavour to pair players based upon ability. Should you wish to play with a friend/s we will happily arrange this.
How does My Friendly Golf Club make money?
We generate revenue through a 14% ‘pay as you play’ fee. This fee covers the club’s operations.
All revenue generated is reinvested in growing My Friendly Golf Club to offer our members more unforgettable golfing experiences.
What happens if I can’t attend the event?
We’re always happy to offer a full refund if we can find a replacement.
If we have more than 60 days notice, we’ll provide a full refund no questions asked.
Which courses can I expect to be invited to?
The majority of our outreach has been focused on Top 100 courses across UK & Ireland as this is in line with our members recommendations. Our first event is in March when we’ll be visiting Woburn Golf Club - the home of Ian Poulter, Charley Hull & Dan Grieve.
We also offer a Hidden Gems chapter, offering golfers the chance to play cost effectively.
Is there a loyalty system for members who play & pay regularly?
Not at the moment but it’s something we would like to introduce in time.
